This summer Monsoon Gallery will fill with the bright color and
unmistakable smell that is the art of Herb Williams. That smell
is wax, for Williams' media is the crayon. The Nashville-based artist
is one of the few individuals in the world who has an account with
Crayola; he uses thousands and thousands of crayons to create each
of his unique sculptures. Using an epoxy to connect the crayons
and various cutting devices to add three-dimensionality, Williams
has created national buzz for his whimsical and striking pieces.

Chris Carter
"Unveiled - The Anatomy of a Painting"
Exhibition Dates
October 3rd- through November 5th
First Friday Artist Reception
October 3rd- 7:00 - 10:00pm
A basic understanding of the five elements that make up every painting is a foundation upon
which a lifelong love of art can be built. An artist, at some point, decides which one or
two of the five elements: line, shape value, color, texture, will dominate a painting and
uses the other elements to support that choice. Carter's October exhibit will challenge the
viewers to recognize each of the elements within the paintings and to become
aware of their personal response to those elements. "Unveiled The Anatomy of a Painting"
promises to be a unique exhibition that may change the way you view art.
