Nancy Plass has been creating art practically all her life. From a young age, she discovered an ability to
capture the beauty she saw in her surroundings. Her artistic expressions in the early years were mostly
pencil or pen & ink drawings, but they have
|
evolved into highly detailed watercolor paintings. Her subject
matter tends to be about nature. Whether it’s the play of light on a leaf or the way the landscape is reflected
in the river, she strives to capture the subtle colors and shapes that might be overlooked.
Nancy has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Cedar Crest College, in Allentown, PA, and a Master of Arts
degree in Illustration from Marywood University. Her paintings are in galleries such as The Golden Door
Gallery in New Hope, Pa, as well as numerous private collections. Her illustrations can be found in several
publications, like The Herb Quarterly magazine. She has taught drawing and painting at Northampton Community
College, as well as private lessons. “I find it very rewarding to nurture the love of creating . There is
something exciting about taking a blank piece of paper and through using shape and color, creating the illusion
that there is something there.”
