Art Museum. Illick, who paints in the european modernist tradition, counts Picasso, Giacometti, Villon and Cezanne among her influences. "I love the late 19th and early 20th century Masters and still spend a great deal of time learning from them. It is my belief that we stand on the shoulders of those who went before us, as the Modernists stood on the shoulders of those painters, draftsmen and sculptors who preceded them. My hope is that by diligence, determination and hard work, I can find my place among them.” - Gini Illick |
