Bruce Elkins is a Colorado-based woodworker. He opened his
studio, Spinning Aspen Studios Inc., in 1977. He produces hand-crafted turned
wood pieces that have been environmentally selected and painstakingly hand-crafted
on a lathe. He specializes in using Aspen wood,
|
but does also use many other types
of wood. Each Spinning Aspen wood product tells a story. Growing tall and strong
in the mountains, a colorful Aspen tree slowly matures. Its legacy is revealed in
the form of beautiful colors, knots, insect marks and cracks. Each piece has been
finished with several coats of protective finish. |
