Born in Cardiff, Richard now lives and works in close proximity to the Peak District in Derbyshire. Much of his recent work has been influenced by the diverse beauty of the Peak landscape, as well as his native Welsh coastline. He draws inspiration from

the unique interaction of sky, land, and water to produce landscapes with their own unique sense of drama and emotion. His paintings tend to reflect the “memory” of a place ­ exploring the feelings derived from it rather than jut the subject matter.
